The ministry of information and broadcasting has mandated that the ratings for news TV h be resumed immediately. The response from BARC has been that it will take the ratings agency 10 weeks to comply. Advertisers have for some time been relying on dated data to buy inventory on news TV channels as the release of news rating reports was called off more than 15 months earlier. They have shared that market dynamics could have changed in terms of reach, viewership, for each news TV player. Hence they would like to flag off the news TV ratings earlier than that to plan and spend their media budgets effectively.
